Collins Family Jewelers was founded in 1978 by the Collins family under the name Western Coins, Inc. Our current location at 8220, Suite A is our third location within the Mira Mesa Mall. What began as a very small location (under 600sf) has grown to our current location of 3,100 square feet. Along with a major mall renovation we have been in our current location since June 2002. As our corporate and start-up name indicates (Western Coins, Inc.), our start was as a coin shop. We also sold collectible stamps and the accessories for stamp and coin collecting. During the initial years we primarilly bought and sold gold and silver bullion in the form of coins and bars. Our knowledge of the gold market led us to realize the tremendous "mark up" most jewelry stores were thriving upon.
